Mobile Design

Sparkle By Firefly

THE GOAL

My primary goal in designing the mobile UI screens for the Firefly app was to create an intuitive and user-friendly interface that empowers foster kids to efficiently manage their checklists, appointments, and valuable documents, streamlining the transition from physical files to a digital format.

Additionally, I aimed to ensure easy access to essential information about local job opportunities, educational prospects, and self-care resources, fostering empowerment and a proactive approach to personal growth. It was crucial to design inclusively and accessibly, making the app usable for all foster kids, regardless of their backgrounds or abilities, ensuring they can easily navigate the app and connect with local opportunities tailored to their unique needs.

Ultimately, my overarching goal was to contribute to the empowerment and independence of foster kids through the Firefly app, providing them with a cohesive, visually appealing, and highly functional mobile UI that bridges gaps and allows them to take control of their own journey towards a better life.

Empowering Foster Youth

The app's visual appeal and cohesiveness were deliberately crafted to engage and resonate with its users. When an interface is both intuitive and aesthetically pleasing, it encourages users to explore, learn, and grow. This empowerment is not just about using technology; it's about leveraging it to create opportunities, enhancing their chances of securing local jobs, pursuing educational options, and practicing self-care.
